What a Beautiful Day for the Lord to Come Again Guitar Chords

From fourth dimension to time anybody struggles to come up with powerful chord progressions. In that location are many ways we can drive inspiration, get ideas and pull ourselves out of a creative slump.

One of the ways I like to get inspired is to report chord progressions from my favourite songs.

While copying a melody from a song is a big no-no, taking a chord progression is more of a grey area.

In fact, in that location are thousands of songs written off the same chord progressions.

Two To One byAdam Szabo and Johan Vilborg

While non one of the biggest tunes ever, this chord progression is i of my favourites of all time, and then I had to include it on the list.

  • Key: F#Dorian
  • Progression: i-Vii-Iii(add9)-IV-i

Heroes byAlesso

Written in Major with an ascending bassline and topline, this progression gives off a nostalgic, uplifting vibe.

  • Key: Fmaj
  • Progression: I-iii7-vi-IV

Faded byAlan Walker

This chord progression isn't particularly interesting. It's the melody that gets layered over it that makes it so catchy and memorable. I do feel that the employ of mainly major chords gives information technology a lot of bulldoze and euphoria. While returning back to the modest 'one' keeps it from feeling too happy and introduces a sense of melancholy.

  • Primal: D#minor
  • Progression: i-VI-Three-VII

Levels byAvicii

Arguably Avicii's biggest vocal e'er. Once more, not a very interesting progression. Its the melody that harmonizes and so well with these chords.

  • Key: C#min
  • Progression: i-Iii-7-6

I Could Be The I byAvicii vs Nicky Romero

This was an interesting chord progression for me. I'chiliad not used to moving from the Three to the Half dozen, I accept a habit of going from 3 to v which gets a chip boring. I find this movement creates a bit of tension and the payoff comes when we resolve to the VII.
The movement from 7 back to the four instead of the expected i also sounds really good to my ear. It tells us that we aren't ready to go home notwithstanding, and allows united states to extend the chordal journey another bar before nosotros finally resolve back to the i.

  • Key: F#min
  • Progression: i-Iii-Half-dozen-VII-iv-v-6-VII

Wake Me Up past Avicii

Quite a boring progression when played on pianoforte. The audio-visual guitar definitely brings life to it.

  • Key: Bmin
  • Progression: i-VI-3-III6/4-i-VI-3-V/i(maj)

I'm Not Alone byCalvin Harris

Not overly complex as far every bit chord progressions become, over again we are seeing that 3, Half dozen relationship we saw in I Could Exist the One – Avicii, Nicky Romero. The variation of the first two chords also helps to keep this progression more than interesting.

  • Key: Emin
  • Progression: 4-v-Vi-i-Iii-VI

Feel So Shut byCalvin Harris

A very basic chord progression, the III resolves dorsum into the i7 and they share 3 common notes the G-C-Due east information technology's only the bass notation that changes from the C to the A. I think the power comes from how it's played, the most prominent notes in the original song are the bass notes. They are played on a very low octave and tin can exist heard clearly.

  • Key: A Pocket-sized
  • Progression: i7-v-7-Three

Under Control by Calvin Harris, Alesso

I actually like the sound of this progression. I dearest when progressions don't start or cease on the i. The fact that information technology starts and ends on a major chord makes it feel similar a compliment sandwich, or maybe a story with a happy get-go and ending like Lord Of The Rings or something.

  • Primal: Fmin
  • Progression: VI-iv7-i-VII

Slide ft Frank Sea and Migos pastCalvin Harris

A progression based purely off sevenths. This feels quite jazzy/funky. We as well hear the G# played in every chord as well as being the high annotation in the melody, I feel similar this gives it a lot of drive with the Yard# being the perfect 5th/ascendant note.

  • Key: C#min
  • Progression: VI7-v7-i7-iv7sus2-v7-VI7

Strobe bydeadmau5

This is an incredibly long chord progression in comparing to the previous ones we've analysed. One of the ways deadmau5 manages maintain interest throughout his long tracks is past making small harmonic variations each fourth dimension the chord progression repeats. We can see that the first viii bars have been duplicated and slight variations take been fabricated to the last ii chords. The high Yard# has been moved down to the F# to make it a 1000#min7. And in the terminal chord, the F# has been moved up to the G# to make information technology a Thousand#min(add9). These small variations are what keeps the song evolving and gives a sense of progression instead of information technology feeling repetitive.

  • Fundamental: 1000#min
  • Progression: i-iv-VI_iv7sus4-VII-i-i7_i-iv-VI-iv7sus4-7-i7-iadd9

Get Lucky byDaft Punk

I'm not the biggest fan of this vocal only I can appreciate how catchy and great it is. What surprised me is how skilful this progression sounds just played on a piano alone. This progression actually turned out to exist i of my favourites in this MIDI chord pack. I love the movement from F# to A to G#. The resolution is strong and super satisfying. I as well really like the movement from minor7 to major which happens twice in this progression.

  • Cardinal: B Dorian
  • Progression: i7-Three-v7-Four

Around the World by Daft Punk

What gives this progression it's uniqueness is the employ of a borrowed chord from the dorian calibration. The IV6(Dor). The IV in Emin would usually get played C-E-G but here they have moved up to a C# and moved the M upward to an A. This creates a bit of tension and besides keeps the bassline walking down.

  • Primal: Emin
  • Progression: i-VII-IV6(Dor)-Half dozen

She Wolf Falling To Pieces byDavid Guetta ft Sia

A actually cute chord progression. While in major it manages to maintain a certain melancholy through the use of a borrowed dominant chord from its parallel small calibration (the minor five).

  • Key: Dmaj
  • Progression: v(min)-iisus4-v(min)-2-iisus4-ii-4-IV-4

Cinema Remix pastSkrillex

I've ever loved the arp in this song. It's prissy to encounter something so elementary can be and so effective.

  • Key: F#min
  • Progression: Six-i-3-VII

Ghosts Northward Stuff by Deadmau5

Deadmau5 tends to use a lot of borrowed chords in his progressions. Hither we can run across he uses the major IV from the parallel scale. He also adds some uncomplicated variation by having a quick VII chord at the terminate of the second repetition of the progression.

  • Cardinal: Bbmin
  • Progression: i-VIIadd9-Half-dozen-IV(maj)-i-VIIadd9-Vi-Four(maj)-VII

Sexy Bitch byDavid Guetta ft Akon

A very basic poppy progression. Nothing interesting near it but it does the job of providing a simple harmony to build a melody on top of.

  • Key: Bmin
  • Progression: i-3-Half-dozen-Three

When Dear Takes Over ft Kelly Rowland by David Guetta

A surprisingly complex progression. I actually love the movement from the ii6 to the Isus4 to the I.

  • Key: F#mix
  • Progression: i-v64-ii6-Isus4-I

Dear is Gone pastDavid Guetta

This progression reminds me of Yet Dre by Dr. Dre. Probably because both progressions start with the i-vsus4-v chords.  I really love this movement and the vibe it gives off.

  • Cardinal: Emin
  • Progression: i-vsus4-5-iv-Half-dozen-7

Titanium feat Sia byDavid Guetta

Non a very compelling chord progression but layered with the palm muted guitar plucks it really comes to life.

  • Key: Cmin
  • Progression: Six-VII-v-i-Vii

Lunar by Virtual Riot

Possibly one of my favourite songs of all time. The chord progression does nothing for me on it's ain but given that the lead plays the exact same sequence, we can safely say that the atomic number 82 is role of each chord. 1 thing to note is how the bassline walks up the scale which really adds to the uplifting feel of this drop.

  • Key: Amin
  • Progression: VI7-V65-i7-v7-VI7-V65-i7-III(add9)

Ghost Voices by Virtual Self

A nice melancholic chord progression with merely one major chord.

  • Cardinal: Bmin
  • Progression: iv-i-v-Half-dozen-v

Phone call On Me pastEric Prydz

What a classic. Such a short and tricky progression.

  • Key: Gmin
  • Progression: i-Three-VII-Half dozen

Holdin' On pastFlume

Such a powerful progression, I honey the iv-VI7-i movement and the emotion information technology brings. The original patch he uses to play this progression is as well really cool, the manner the pitch drifts up and downward actually gives it the edge.

  • Key: Cmin
  • Progression: iv-VI7-i-5-i6

Right Hither Right Now byFatboy Slim

A real archetype. I love the subtle tension the 6th chords add to this progression. Too, notice how the last chord has an F# in information technology. This is both a slash chord (cause it's really a Dmajor chord with F# as the root notation) and a borrowed chord because the Dmajor chord comes from the A Major scale.

  • Key: Amin
  • Progression: i_ii6-Vii-IV64

Pjanoo byEric Prydz

I used to think this vocal was but iii chords repeating over and over once again. Turns out its actually 12 chords repeating. Its the motif playing over them that gets repeated every four confined. The reason it can be repeated then many times and stay interesting because the harmony is constantly evolving beneath it over a stretch of sixteen bars.

  • Fundamental: Gmin
  • Progression: i-7-Six-VI-VII-four-4-v-Half-dozen-Half-dozen-VII-i

Never Be Like You feat Kai byFlume

These are the chords from the intro. The motion from I-ii (major to modest) definitely helps keep the tone of this song more melancholic.

  • Key: Cmaj
  • Progression: I-ii-4-Iv

Where are U at present by Jack U

Quite a poppy-sounding chord progression. The motility from the 4-vi manages to keep the emotion of this progression almost distressing or longing.

  • Cardinal: Gmaj
  • Progression: 4-half-dozen-Five-I-IV

Take U There feat Kiesza pastJack U

Such a feel practiced progression. Starting off with the major Iii gives information technology an uplifting feel which so moves to a really tense iv6 chord and resolves to the tonic.

  • Cardinal: C#min
  • Progression: III_iv6-i

To U feat AlunaGeorge byJack U

I love the emphasis of the ascendant 7th (v7) chord hither. The coaction between the i-v7 and the iv7-Half dozen-VIIsus2 has a real call and response feel to information technology.

  • Key: Bb pocket-sized
  • Progression: i-v7-iv7-VI-VIIsus2

Experience Expert Inc by Gorillaz

I dearest the weight of the iv7 chord coming in after the i-7, it feels really powerful which is strange to me as I usually would wait the I or the v chord to feel most powerful.

  • Key: D#min
  • Progression: i-7-iv7-v7-5

Stereo Love by Edward Maya

Another very bones poppy chord progression. I find these are swell for creating short, tricky melodies over.

  • Key: C#min
  • Progression: i-VI-III-Vii

Hideaway byKiesza

Not a super interesting chord progression, but I love the way it's voiced in this song. We have the pinnacle note in the first 2 chords sticking to the K and when information technology moves up to the A in the third chord along with the bass annotation playing that low F, information technology creates a really emotional transition and ends off on a at-home resolution with the iv chord.

  • Key: Gmin
  • Progression: i-6-Vii-iv

Seek Bromance by Tim Berg

Such a beautiful chord progression. I honey the use of 6ths at the end of each bar that then lead into the next chord.

  • Key: C#min
  • Progression: 3-IIIsus2-7-V6-V-i-VII6-Iii

Sorry byJustin Bieber

The motility from Iv to i7 feels really emotional. This is probably compounded past the employ of the seventh and the half step relationship between the G# and the 1000. The end of the progression finishes with an entirely different fix of chords, played in a different rhythm, which adds some dainty variation.

  • Key: Cmin
  • Progression: (Four-i7-VII)x3-4-Half-dozen-VII

Divinity by Porter Robinson

A really interesting chord progression. We have the F# in every chord acting similar a drone note. The only existent tune I'thou paying attention to when I hear this progression is the motion from the B to A and then Due east to C#.

  • Key: Dmaj
  • Progression: IV7-IV7sus2-I(add9)-I7-IV7-vi7-I(add9)-I7

Have Over Control by Afrojack

Definitely one of my favourite songs of all time. The chord progression doesn't sound not bad without the topline/melody over it in my stance. Still a very interesting and long progression.

  • Key: Cmin
  • Progression: i-VII-III64-V64-Seven-i-i-Seven-III-V-Seven-i

Home byMadeon

Quite an uplifting feel to this progression, probably due to the employ of generally major chords.

  • Key: F#min
  • Progression: Vi-i-7-VI-Vii-i-Seven

All My Love ft Ariana Grande pastMajor Lazer

In this progression, we come across the employ of a borrowed chord. The V(maj)is borrowed from the parallel major. This makes for a very satisfying resolution in my opinion.

  • Cardinal: Dmin
  • Progression: i-VII-Three-6-V(maj)-i-VII-III-Six-Seven

Toulouse byNicky Romero

I love this progression, it has a powerful call and response where it rises in the beginning four bars and falls in the last 4.

  • Key: Fmin
  • Progression: i-7-Half-dozen-iv7-VI-Vi-Seven-i-VII-i

The Sky past Mat Zo feat Linnea Schossow

This is the starting time time we have seen a phrygian way being used in this article. The use of this mode gives this progression a fleck of an ethnic flavour. I also love the little bass walk-ups at the cease of each 4 confined.

  • Fundamental: D Phrygian
  • Progression: Vi-iv-Imix-i-III-III6-III64-VI-III-Imix-i-III-III6-III64

Language byPorter Robinson

An interesting progression. Porter sticks to these big major chords and only briefly returns to the minor i to give it a sort of lamentable resolution.

  • Fundamental: F#min
  • Progression: VIadd9-i7-Seven-5-VIadd9-i7

Million Voices byOtto Knows

Here we see the use of a slash chord which has been more mutual than I expected. If you lot look at the second chord it'southward really a Gmin just the root notation is a D – the D has been moved down an octave and the Chiliad moved upwards an octave. My guess is he did this so he could have that high G constantly playing through the progression similar a drone annotation  (upwards until the terminal chord).

  • Key: Eb major
  • Progression: I-iii64-half dozen-IV

Witchcraft byPendulum

Such a simple progression. The melody that plays over it and the sound choices is what makes information technology stand up out.

  • Key: Fmin
  • Progression: i-6-VII-four

Sugariness Nothing by Calvin Harris

Uncomplicated pop progression. I love the movement of the F#-Thou#-A# in the concluding 3 chords.

  • Central: Bmaj
  • Progression: IV-I-vi-V

Say My Proper name ft Zyra by Odesza

Such a cute chord progression. Just opening on that iv7 chord sounds so adept to me. The VI-i7 motion is also so beautiful.

  • Cardinal: F#min
  • Progression: iv7-Half dozen-i7-7

Shelter byPorter Robinson and Madeon

This is my favourite part of the song, this poesy that goes "when I'chiliad older I'll be silent abreast you…". The chords harmonize so nicely with the song melody. Theres some cute suspended and seventh chords that make up this progression.

  • Primal: Cmaj
  • Progression: vi7-V-IVsus2-I6-ii7-V7sus4

Summit bySkrillex

The chords alone don't really interest me, its the melody that harmonizes and so well with them. Definitely 1 of my favourite Skrillex tunes.

  • Key: F#maj
  • Progression: vi-4-ii-Iv-V-half-dozen

Nobody To Love bySigma

What a solid progression. Information technology feels like it tells a story and has a stiff telephone call and response theme. The use of the I6 chords creates squeamish tension and lets yous know that a resolving chord will follow.

  • Primal: Eb Major
  • Progression: IV-5-I-I6-4-I6-V11

This Is What You Came For By Calvin Harris

Another actually basic pop progression. That doesn't take abroad from the fact that it works really well with the song.

  • Key: Amin
  • Progression: i_VI-7-Iii
